Calforests Welcomes Kirstin Kolpitcke to the Team
Kolpitcke will serve as VP of Legislative Affairs
(Sacramento) – California Forestry Association (Calforests) President David A. Bischel announced today that Ms. Kirstin Kolpitcke has been named vice president of legislative affairs and will officially start March 9, 2015. In this capacity, Ms. Kolpitcke will be Calforests’ chief legislative advocate where she will be responsible for representing Calforests’ diverse membership including forest owners, forest product manufacturers, producers of renewable biomass energy, and forestry professionals in the development and implementation of legislative strategy.
In making this announcement, Mr. Bischel stated, “I am extremely pleased to have an individual with the credentials of Ms. Kolpitcke join the Calforests team. Prior to joining Calforests, Ms. Kolpitcke served as a legislative representative for the League of California Cities, providing advocacy services and strategic counsel to her clients. Before joining the League of California Cities, Ms. Kolpitcke served as assistant director of legislation for the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research. She has served extended duty as chief of staff for two prominent Assembly members, and was also selected as a Jesse Marvin Unruh Assembly Fellow, a program founded in 1957, and is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious legislative fellowship programs. Kirstin brings a wealth of policy and political experience to Calforests, as well as extensive contacts throughout the Capitol community.”
Ms. Kolpitcke stated, “I am very excited to be joining such a well-respected organization as the California Forestry Association. This position is an excellent opportunity for me to work with a great group of professionals on forestry issues that are diverse and complex; and for which I strongly believe are worth supporting.”
Ms. Kolpitcke holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UC Riverside, and Master of Arts in Government from Sacramento State University.
